Meet the Person Behind Cambs Ely Mortgages More Than Just Mortgage Advice

Mortgages, protection, property finance and free educational resources to help you make better financial decisions.

Hello, I'm Luca, the person behind Cambs Ely Mortgages, and I thought it was time to properly introduce myself, explain what I do and, perhaps more importantly, show you everything I've been building to help people understand mortgages, property finance and financial protection.

Whether you're already one of my clients, thinking about buying your first home, considering a remortgage or simply interested in understanding the property market, there's something here for you.

And the best part? You don't need to be a client to benefit from my educational content.

A Little About Me and Cambs Ely Mortgages

I established Cambs Ely Mortgages with a straightforward objective: to make mortgage and protection advice more accessible, transparent and easier to understand.

Based near Ely in Cambridgeshire, I help clients locally and across the UK with a wide range of mortgage, finance and protection requirements.

From first-time buyers and home movers to landlords, company directors and business owners, my approach remains the same.

Understand the person, understand their circumstances and find a suitable solution.

With access to over 200 lenders, I can explore options across a wide range of circumstances, including more complex cases involving self-employment, adverse credit, Buy-to-Let and commercial finance.

But arranging mortgages is only part of what I do.

I also believe that helping people understand their financial decisions is incredibly important.

That's why I've invested considerable time into building educational resources that anyone can access.

Why I Created My Guides & Resources

Let's face it. Mortgages can be confusing.

What exactly is an Agreement in Principle? Why do fixed mortgage rates increase when the Bank of England hasn't changed its Base Rate? How much deposit do you need? What's the difference between life insurance and income protection?

These are questions I regularly encounter.

Rather than expecting everyone to understand complicated financial terminology, I've created a dedicated Guides & Resources section on my website.

You'll find information covering four main areas:

🏡 Mortgage & Home Buying Guides

Useful information for first-time buyers, home movers and existing homeowners.

Explore mortgage affordability, deposits, remortgaging, interest rates and the steps involved in buying a property.

🏘️ Buy-to-Let & Landlord Guides

For existing landlords and anyone considering property investment.

Learn about Buy-to-Let mortgages, limited company ownership, portfolio lending and the financial considerations associated with rental property.

🏢 Commercial Mortgage & Property Finance Guides

Designed for business owners, property investors and anyone exploring commercial finance.

Discover how commercial mortgages, business loans, bridging finance and development finance work.

🛡️ Protection & Insurance Guides

Because financial planning shouldn't stop once your mortgage has been arranged.

Understand life insurance, critical illness cover, income protection, private medical insurance and business protection.

All these resources are available through the Guides & Resources section of my website.

🎬 My Educational Video Library

Not everyone enjoys reading lengthy articles.

Sometimes it's much easier to watch a short video explaining a subject in straightforward language.

That's why I've created a growing library of free educational videos.

The aim is simple:

Clear Answers. Better Understanding. Better Decisions.

My videos cover subjects including first-time buyer mortgages, Agreements in Principle, remortgaging, mortgage rates, swap rates, the Bank of England Base Rate, Buy-to-Let, commercial finance and protection insurance.

I also create videos about current events that could affect your mortgage or financial decisions.

Whether you're watching for two minutes or exploring several subjects, I hope you'll come away understanding something you didn't know before.

Explore my Educational Video Library on the Cambs Ely Mortgages website.

💬 Have a Question? Tell Me What Video to Make Next!

Here's something I'd particularly like to encourage.

I want you to help shape the educational content I create.

Is there a mortgage question you've always wanted answered?

Perhaps you're confused about how lenders calculate affordability, how much deposit you need or whether being self-employed makes getting a mortgage more difficult.

Maybe you'd like to understand why mortgage rates change, how Buy-to-Let works or whether income protection is worth considering.

Whatever the subject, I'd love to hear it.

Simply drop your question or suggested video topic in the comments on any of my social media posts.

I'll use your suggestions to help decide what educational videos to create next.

No question is too basic, and if you're wondering about something, chances are someone else is too.

Just remember not to share personal financial or sensitive information publicly. If your question relates to your individual circumstances, please contact me privately.

More Than Just Finding a Mortgage

Something I always try to emphasise is that my role doesn't end with finding a mortgage product.

A mortgage is often one of the biggest financial commitments someone makes.

Understanding the risks, repayments, available options and protection requirements is just as important as understanding the interest rate.

That's why I take time to explain the reasoning behind recommendations and help clients understand the decisions they're making.

Whether we're discussing your first home, a remortgage, an investment property or protecting your family's financial future, the objective is the same.

Helping you make informed decisions with confidence.
